Country biscuits
6oz/175g 100% Wholemeal Flour
1 1/2 oz, 40g Coarse Oatmeal
1 tsp 5 ml Baking Powder
1/2 tsp 2.5ml salt
3oz 75g butter or margarine
2oz 50g raw brown sugar
3tbsp 45ml milk (or soya milk)
mix all the dry ingredients, except the sugar together. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. stir in the sugar add add the milk. Stir well until the dough is firm but manageable. Roll out farily thinly on a lightly floured board and stam out 3" rounds. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 180 C 350 F mark 4 for 20-25 minutes, until light brown. cool on a wire tray and store in an air tight tin.
