OK, a "mission statement" isn't easy to do! So I've given up thinking about one! Basically, we want to do something useful, and so raising money and donating it to good causes is what we intend to do, as well as have an informative and lively website. Whether we give money directly to, for example, new mothers who are finding it hard to be at home alone and would like to do something to earn a little money (we'll be writing more about our ideas for this later); or we give to charities that we want to support, we'll be trying to help out. We'll be raising money in a number of ways, but the two we've started with are becoming an Amazon associate and ConkerToys.co.uk. Click on the "Amazon Store" link at the top of any page to go to our list of books, and please email us with any lists of your own. ConkerToys.co.uk will be selling good quality wooden toys, and we're looking into setting up a "party plan" scheme, where you can buy the toys at a discount and sell them on yourself, either keeping the profit, or giving it to a charity of your own choice. This may be a way to fundraise for your local playgroup, for example. The charities this year are to be chosen by poll in the forum, so have a think and let us know what you're interested in supporting. |
